Brief history about me: God called me away from the corporate world of computer programming to homeschooling my girls. You can imagine the transition and sacrifice this calling required. In spite of it all, the Lord was faithful, as I partnered with Him to homeschool my daughters from kindergarten all the way through high school. With homeschooling completed, God has now called me to equip women with His truth. To aid me in pursuing this calling, I enrolled in COMPEL writers training. COMPEL motivated me to create this site and helped me to define my mission. 

How I came to know Christ: My background growing up included verbal abuse and rejection. I lived in fear of people, trying to please them. As a result, I became a performance-driven perfectionist. Not until my preteen years, did I encounter Jesus Christ and accept Him as my Lord and Savior. Realizing how much He loved me brought hope into my life. I then had to learn how to replace all the lies from my past with God’s truth and discover who I was in Christ. For me, this process took years. 

What I learned: Due to my background, I understand the impact of our words. The saying, “sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is so untrue! The Bible tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Our spoken words and written words speak life or death. I desire to speak life and build others up as Paul writes in Ephesians 4:29 (NIV), “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

I also understand the importance of spending time in the Word and meditating on its truths. Holding onto the truths from God’s Word was instrumental in transforming me into a true follower of Jesus Christ. I desire women to discover this for themselves as well. Therefore, my passion is to equip women with God’s truth, so they are anchored in the Bible and empowered to live as fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
